New Fractional Chief Marketing Programme Officer, Steve Suckling, joins gigCMO


gigCMO has appointed Fractional Chief Marketing Programme Officer, Steve Suckling to our global team of experts following his latest gig as Programme Manager at Faith Associates.

Steve has an illustrious background in leadership positions spanning more than 20 years. In his position at Faith Associates he led on the design and delivery of a United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) funded pilot of approaches and materials to build resilient faith institutions in East Africa. He has also recently worked as Communications Adviser for the launch of the Institute for Apprenticeships, which ensures high-quality apprenticeship standards and advises government on fundingpastedGraphic.png

With both an academic and professional understanding of the social, political and economic role of organisations across the public, private and third sectors, Steve has a catalogue of other notable roles under his belt as well. These include Marketing Programme Manager for Study Group’s EMEA region, enabling international students to succeed through pathway and language programmes to UK and European universities, and Customer Change Programme Manager at AQA providing qualifications enabling students to progress to the next stage in their lives.

Steve’s capacity to help organise business programmes to commercial and meaningful advantage translates aspiration into tangible, actionable, deliverable and measurable pathways, using a range of approaches. This includes co-development and mapping a pathway to take small, digestible and measurable steps towards achieving agreed values and goals.

His roles and gigs have helped organisations and teams to focus on business priorities and evolve the position of the customer, including defining purpose and goals using insight, research and customer journey mapping. As part of an overall customer approach this also incorporates:

  • marketing and sales programmes for delivery in-house or through procurement
  • new or refreshed brand, web and social media 
  • communications through public affairs activities and PR.

Responsibilities have also included the procurement and implementation of supporting technologies such as customer relationship management (CRM), web presence and content management systems (CMS) as well as technologies to enable business process transformation.
